Res-Q Automated Backup - FAQ's

How do I exclude certain files from my backups?

Res-Q has a great deal of flexibility in its file selection options, allowing you to select files by virtually any method you choose.  File selection is performed from the Res-Q file selection screen, which is accessed either by clicking on the "select files" button in the main screen or by clicking on the toolbar icon.  To exclude individual files or directories (folders), you can find the file in the listing window on the left side of the screen, then with the file highlighted, simply click the "Exclude" button.  The filename will be added to the list of excluded files, shown at the bottom of the screen.  Alternatively, you can select groups of files by commonality of names, such as "*.DAT" or "*.EXE" files.   To do this, type the filename pattern into the "filter" box and click on "add filter" to add it to the exclusion list.
