To perform a restore, begin by clicking the "restore" tab. You will be presented with a list of available backups to choose from, with summary information about each backup presented in the right hand window pane. There are three available backup types to choose from. Local backups are those which are stored on your own workstation for immediate restore. Online backups are those which are stored on the Res-Q server and must be downloaded with your modem. If neither of these is available, you may choose to restore from a Res-Q CD-ROM, which you can request from our support department for a nominal fee. Once you've chosen which backup to restore from, click the "restore selected" button and then choose which of the three available backup types you would like to restore. Since Res-Q compresses all selected backup files into one smaller "transmit" file, you will need to retrieve this compressed file from the Res-Q server and then extract the individual component file(s) that you want from it. Upon successful completion of the backup file retrieval, Res-Q will automatically launch its "uncompress" utility, which allows you to extract individual files from the compressed backup file you just retrieved. You will also have various options to restore the file(s) to alternate or original locations, overwrite existing files, etc. Follow the prompts to retrieve and restore the backup using the options you prefer.
