When first installed, Res-Q will be running in demonstration mode, which disables certain features while still allowing you to test-drive the software for a limited time. In demonstration mode, the FTP user name will automatically be set to "demo" with no password. This allows you to access a shared public folder on the FTP server, in order to upload your test backups. Since this is a shared public folder, we limit the access to write-only. What this means to you is that you can upload your backups in order to try out the software, but you cannot retrieve them. This limitation is in place so that any data you upload to our server will be protected from others. The drawback is that you will be unable to perform a test restore, other than from your own local copy of the backup file. Once the software is registered and activated, you will receive your own private folder and this limitation is removed. After activation, you must enter your own user name and password as provided by the Res-Q Master Dealer hosting your backup server.
